Comic book fans converge in Warren

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Comic book fans headed over to Packard Music Hall Saturday for the yearly comic book convention.

The convention was hosted by All American Cards and Comics and featured comic books, toys, and art, which were all for sale with over 70 vendors in attendance.

Michael Golden, artist of Micronauts, which was a popular action figure in the 1970’s, was the special guest.

The convention also held a cosplay contest where attendees dress like their favorite fictional character and compete to win prizes.

“A lot of these people won’t step foot in a comic book store or something like that. They just like coming out because it is an event and we try to put on a nice, inexpensive event,” Greg Bartholomew, show promoter.

Attendance figures aren’t in yet for this year, but last year more than 1,000 people attended the show.
