YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Dozens of train enthusiasts were “all aboard” the second round trip to and from Ashtabula by passenger train on Sunday. What made it unique was the 1930s era steam locomotive that pulled the 19 passenger cars along the Norfolk Southern tracks.
Some riders paid several hundred dollars to take the unique trip. The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society offered the trips starting at the Covelli Centre on Saturday and Sunday.
People even gathered at the Route 304 rail crossing in Hubbard Township and at other locations to see the historic train chug through.
