HouseBand celebrates 25 years

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Since the early 1990’s, The HouseBand has been the prime source of entertainment in the Mahoning Valley region.

They are now celebrating 25 years of playing music.

The HouseBand began as monthly jam sessions at Jim Dandy’s on South Avenue and was then known as Jim Dandy’s House Band. It was not long before they received bookings at different clubs and private parties.

Since they had no official name at the time, club owners didn’t know what to call them. They couldn’t advertise one their competitors by putting up “Jim Dandy’s House Band”, so, Jim Dandy’s was dropped from the title and simply advertised as “The HouseBand.” This followed them everywhere they performed and the name stayed.

Their reputation spread as they developed a diverse following of fans ranging from all walks of life. They became legendary for tight, non-stop action filled shows. Their unique song selections include pop, oldies, classic rock, hard rock, R & B, originals and even some country.

There is never a dull moment when The HouseBand is on the stage.

The band is playing from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the St. Patrick Festival in Hubbard and from 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday at the Italian Festival in downtown Youngstown.
