YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Mahoning County Commissioners made good on an outstanding bill to provide medical services for inmates housed at the Mahoning County Jail.
Commissioners agreed Thursday morning to pay more than $478,000 to the Colorado-based Correctional Healthcare Companies. The county’s prior agreement with the company expired Jan. 1, but services continued under an extension of the old contract.
Thursday’s payment covered the months of April, May and June.
The Sheriff’s office spends roughly $1.7 million every year for jail medical services.
