STRUTHERS, OH (WYTV)-Struthers lost double-digit seniors to graduation after the 2014 season leaving many spots open for 2015, but one position that won’t see a battle is quarterback, where junior quarterback AJ Musolino could be poised for a big year.
Musolino led the Wildcats in passing and rushing yards last season while reaching the end zone 15 times. He will lead an offense that only scored 17.5 points per game.
“Just having confidence in myself and having confidence in my teammates, just to motivate them and push forward,” says Musolino
Defense was the strong side for the Wildcats last year allowing only 18 points per game, which was one of the better defenses in the area. But Struthers only returns 2 starters from last year on defense but the Wildcats think defense will once again lead the way.
“We’re not going to talk a lot about last year, about being mad, and doing this. It’s a new group. And their expectations are not just to get into the playoffs, but to get in and make a run and go from there. We’re gonna hang our hat on defense. So, number one, we’re gonna put our best eleven guys over there and have a great defense. And then, on offense, kinda do what AJ can do, and kinda go from there,” said head coach Chad Kuntz who is in his fourth-year at Struthers.
Struthers opens the season August 28th against Liberty.
