Ceramics Museum in East Liverpool modernized

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WYTV) – A ribbon cutting for not one but two new projects at the Museum of Ceramics in East Liverpool.

The Morning Journal says that the “Access? All Right” project included installation of an elevator and a street level restroom. That was paid for by the museum’s foundation.

The Whole Museum Air Conditioning Project means a cool time for visitors to the East 5th Street building. The Ohio History Connection covered the cost of that. They were the most expensive projects in the history of the museum.

Also unveiled during the ceremony was the museum’s new exhibit, “Awesome Aesthetic Style” which features aesthetic pottery presented on loan from anonymous friends of the museum, as well as technological additions to the exhibits. These included actual pottery videos dating to the 1920s, and tablets where children can play certain games while at a particular exhibit.

The Museum of Ceramics is open 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, and closed Sunday-Monday.
