YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown man was sentenced to 23 years in prison Friday for a 2014 shooting death.
Wesley Blackshear pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery charges in the death of Brendon Moorer. The incident happened last May outside the Big Apple Market at McGuffey Road and Albert Street.
In court Friday morning, Blackshear’s lawyer told Common Pleas Judge Maureen Sweeney that her client and the victim started arguing over a drug deal. The two struggled over a gun and it went off.
