Gun, drugs, and bullet proof vest taken from Pa. home, man arrested

MAHONINGTOWN, Pa. (WYTV) – Police in Lawrence County arrested a Mahoningtown man Thursday after a raid on his home turned up cash, guns and a bullet proof vest.

Police executing a search warrant at the home of Freeman “Free” Bankston, 607 W. Cedar St., Mahoningtown, said they found 3 ounces of uncut cocaine, a loaded, stolen handgun, $1,400 in cash and a bullet proof vest.

Police said Bankston is a parolee and was taken into custody at the scene.

He will be charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver, along with other charges.

Bankston is currently in the Lawrence County Jail.

New Castle Police, the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, and Union Township Police executed the sealed search warrant.
