YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – If you used the Youngstown freeways to get to your high school football game Friday night, you may have seen evidence that the Youngstown Fire Department was busy.
Firefighters were called to a vacant house at the intersection of Erie and Oklahoma. That’s near the I-680-Himrod Expressway interchange. Plenty of smoke was pouring from the building when the department got the call around 6:30 p.m.
The department worked to keep other nearby homes from catching on fire. Neighbors say the house has been vacant for three years.
