Hickory’s Pryts commits to Penn State

The Hornets standout chose the Nittany Lions over 20 other Major Division 1 schools.

Hermitage, PA (WYTV) – Hickory’s Andrew Pryts entered his senior season as the most recruited player in the Valley, and today he chose to become a Nittany Lion.

Pryts picked Penn State over 20 other major Division 1 programs, including Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Stanford. He’s a four star prospect and becomes the 20th commitment to the Penn State class of 2016.

He made the announcement on his Twitter page Saturday night, saying: “Born a Nittany Lion & proud to announce I will continue my career as one & commit to Penn State University.

Pryts plays on both sides of the ball, but was recruited to play safety for Penn State. Last year, he led the Hornets in receiving with 47 catches for 697 yards and 11 touchdowns.
