BROOKFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – Falling behind early in the game, the Springfield Tigers rode a six touchdown game from quarterback Graham Mincher to win their 2015 opener 41-31.

With 3:43 remaining in the first quarter, the Warriors broke the scoreless tie on a one yard Nick Castro run, giving Brookfield the 7-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Augustus Necastro punched it in from four yards out to push the Warrior lead to 15-0.
A 37 yard field goal with 1:09 remaining in the first quarter increased the lead to 18-0.
Needing to score before the half, the Tigers got on the board when Graham Mincher connected with Ethan Nezbeth on a 38 yard touchdown, making it 18-6.
A Brookfield fumble as time wound down in the half gave the Tigers great field position and with 1.8 remaining in the half, Branden Walters brought down a 27 yard touchdown pass to make it 18-13 at the half.
With 7:18 remaining in the third quarter, Caleb Hunkus scored on a 68 yard touchdown pass to push the Warrior lead to 24-13.
That’s when Springfield’s offense came to life behind the arm of senior quarterback Mincher.
In the second half, Mincher connected with Jake Ford on an 82 yard touchdown pass, Cody Allen from 60 yards out for a score and then later on a 59 yard pass with Nezbeth.
Springfield will return home to host McDonald next week. Brookfield will travel to Youngstown Christian.
