GIRARD, Ohio (WYTV) – Flexing their offensive muscles, the Hubbard Eagles made it through a lightning delay and cruised past Girard for the 55-7 win.

Following a Girard turnover, the Eagles’ Brandon Rios broke through the Indian defense, taking the ball 31 yards on the first play from scrimmage to put the Eagles ahead by a score.

Later in the quarter, it was George Hill punching it in from a few yards out to increase Hubbard’s lead to 14-0.

With time running out in the opening quarter, Hill found the endzone again from nine yards out to push the Eagle lead to 21-0.

Leading 27-0 with over five minutes remaining in the second quarter, the game was delayed due to lightning.

Coming out of the delay, Girard struck for their first score on a Jacob Ryser 1 one yard touchdown run, making it 27-7.

The Eagles answered on a 30 yard run by Hill, increasing their lead 33-7.

Due to the lightning delay, no halftime was held between second and third quarter, but on the second half kickoff, George Hill took the ball 85 yards for another score, making it 40-7.

A couple minutes later it was Rios scoring for the second time, this time from 18 yards out, increasing the lead to 47-7.

The Eagles would add on to their lead late, winning 55-7.
