9/11 events in the Valley

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Many ceremonies will be held in the Mahoning Valley today to honor those who died and served as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Stadium Drive Elementary in Boardman will be hosting their annual tree dedication where students and officials will plant a tree in honor of those victims. The event begins at 8:45 a.m.

In Lisbon, State Representative Tim Ginter will be speaking at the Beaver Local Schools District Building at 7:45 a.m.

At Youngstown State University, people will gather on the second floor of Cushwa Hall to honor police officers who died during 9/11.

Austintown will also conduct services at the 9/11 Memorial on Raccoon Road. The event begins at 9:45 a.m. Raccoon Road to Falcon Drive will closed for the service.
