Monumental day for Rummell, Ridge notches 1st win

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (WYTV) – Tait Rummell gained 315 yards rushing on 23 carries and scored 5 times as Mineral Ridge notched their first win of the season 45-27 over Newton Falls. The Rams finished the game with 486 yards on the ground as a team. Dimetrius Lopez rushed for 82 yards on 13 carries as quarterback Mac White picked up 69 stripes on 11 totes. White was 3 for 10 for 20 yards through the air.

Josh Walters, Newton Falls’ quarterback, threw for 296 yards and 2 scores while connecting on 14 of 33. Walters also led the team in rushing with 47 yards (TD).

The Tigers (0-3) will seek their first win of the year as they travel to Edgewood. Ridge (1-2) will look to keep their win streak going as they host South Range next week.
