WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police in Warren are looking for a female suspect who they say passed $500 in counterfeit $20 bills at a local retailer.
Officers were called Monday about 5 p.m. to Walgreens, 804 W. Market St., after the manager there said a customer passed the fake bills.
According to the police report, the woman entered the store and purchased a reloadable credit and wanted $500 placed on the card. The suspect paid with 25 counterfeit $20 bills.
Police said the manager tested the bills with a marker, and the officer also observed that the bills did not have a watermark line.
The suspect provided identification to the store manager and used a Walgreens rewards account.
Police are reviewing surveillance video and the account information of the suspect.
