WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police in Warren are looking for the person who shot 23-year-old Jarame Provitt Saturday morning.
Provitt can be heard on a 911 call obtained by WKBN moaning in pain, after he was found outside a house on First Street SW in Warren lying in a pool of his own blood, wounded seriously but not fatally.
“I know that this area in particular is a hot spot right now,” Warren Police Captain Robert Massucci said.
Part of the 911 call sounded like this:
- Dispatcher: “Do you have any information on who shot him sir?”
- Caller: “Yo, we about to just take him to the hospital, man.”
- Dispatcher: “Who shot him, sir?”
- Caller: “I don’t know, I was in the *expletive* house with my kids, yo.”
A neighbor took Provitt to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he briefly spoke to police before being flown by helicopter to Cleveland. Provitt is expected to survive and at last check was listed in serious but stable condition.
“We have several leads. That area’s been pretty hot for us recently as far as shootings go, several shots fired calls in that area, so we have several leads to follow up on, but as of right now, we do not have a suspect,” Massucci said.
Now detectives are still looking for whoever’s responsible for Saturday’s shooting. They’re asking anyone who might have any information to please come forward and contact Warren Police at (330) 394-2521.
