Warren drug drop-off set for Wednesday

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Trumbull-Ashtabula Group police officers will collect and destroy prescription drugs Wednesday in Warren, according to a press release.

Police will accept the drugs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 23 at the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management facilities at 5138 Enterprise Drive in Warren, the release states.

Officers will accept unused or expired drugs in original containers. If you can’t make it to the dropoff, you can find a list of drug drop-off boxes online.

Police will count the medications and destroy them, according to the release.

The following medications can be turned in:

  • Pills
  • Capsules
  • Patches
  • Gels
  • Powders
  • Ointments
  • Syrups
  • Vitamins
  • Inhalers
  • Pet meds

These medications cannot be turned in:

  • Needles
  • Syringes
  • Lancets
  • Thermometers
  • IV bags
  • Aerosol cans
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Empty containers
  • Illegal drugs.
