CORTLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – One lane of traffic is closed on Route 11 in Cortland following an accident Monday.
Crews are working to clear an accident involving two vehicles in the northbound lane of the interstate, between Route 5 and Route 305. Minimal traffic backups are reported. The lane should re-open before 9 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near the Everett Hull Road overpass.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one vehicle was traveling on the highway at about 45 miles per hour when another vehicle traveling at about 65 or 70 miles per hour tried to avoid the slower vehicle and collided with it.
Two people were taken by ambulance to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.
