Boardman and Austintown police search for robbery suspect

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police in Boardman and Austintown are looking for a suspect they believe tried to rob a convenience store in Boardman and then later robbed a store in Austintown.

The suspect grabbed a drink at the Circle K on Lockwood Boulevard and then approached the counter where he handed the clerk a note that said, “I only want bills, this is a robbery.”

When the suspect didn’t get any money he ran away.

Police say a man fitting the same description robbed another store in Austintown and got away with money. Police haven’t confirmed how much was taken and it is not clear if a weapon was used.

After the man left Austintown, Youngstown police spotted the car and chased him. Both police agencies are still looking for the suspect.
