Habitat for Humanity receives $20,000 grant

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WYTV) – Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Bank of America.

This award will help build homes, communities and hope in Mahoning and Trumbull counties. Thanks to this grant, more local housing opportunities will be created with even more families securing a decent and safe place to live.

Jennifer Hurd with Bank of America was in town for the grant presentation. “Here in Ohio, we have volunteered with them before,” says Hurd, “but this is the first time that we have granted this to Mahoning County.”

Since its founding, Habitat For Humanity Mahoning Valley has built and/or rehabilitated 93 homes locally and 17 internationally. They are currently working on a house in Lowellville.
