Police looking for suspects in Warren shooting

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The victim was shot at his home and Warren police are still looking for who did it.

WKBN is not releasing the victim’s name due to his age.

The victim’s girlfriend made a frantic 911 call just after 11:00 on Sunday morning from his home on Idylwild Street Northeast in Warren.

Someone knocked on the door and when the victim answered it, he was shot.

The victim’s girlfriend heard a bang and saw her boyfriend fall to the ground. He didn’t know who shot him.

Irene Rathbun lives two houses away and heard the two gunshots.

“I came outside, there was an ambulance and about seven cop cars,” Rathbun said.

Her daughter recorded some of the scene on a cell phone.

Rathbun said this shooting doesn’t surprise her.

“There are gunshots on this street all the time,” she said.

During that 911 call, the victim told his girlfriend he saw the person run behind the home and into the woods.

Warren police are still looking for suspects in this shooting. If you have any tips, you’re asked to call investigators.
