Update: Road reopened following Sharon accident

SHARON, Pa. (WYTV) – State Route 62 in Sharon has reopened following a traffic accident that closed a portion of the road for two hours.

The crash occurred on Route 62 near Walnut Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. Monday, when a truck carrying a steel coil tipped over while going around a bend in the westbound lane.

Crews cut the steel coil from the truck and worked to remove it from the roadway.

The driver has been cited for driving at safe speed and accidents involving overturned vehicles, according to police. The truck belongs to PI & I Motor Express in Masury.

No one was hurt during the crash, and the road reopened at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
