WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – On Monday, the man accused of the murder of a Warren woman was arraigned and bond was set at $1 million. His wife is speaking out for the first time, however, and has some questions about the case.
“Condolences to the situation, but there is more to this story, and i will have it investigated before I let it all fall on his head, his shoulders,” said Fambro’s wife, Carrie McGhee.
McGhee said she is skeptical that her husband committed the murder. She said her husband and the victim did know each other.
McGhee said her husband got a call from a detective about the case, and she told him to go to the police department right away. He was taken into custody from there and brought to the county jail.
McGhee said, although he was placed at the scene of the crime, that would be impossible as her husband is totally blind and has been for 10 years.
“I was told he was seen driving from the crime scene,” McGhee said.
Later, she said she was told it was not her husband on the tape, but two other people.
The victim, Teresa Hunter, was found shot to death inside room 25 at the Riverview Motel on Thursday morning. Managers there told police they checked on her after she did not check out that morning.
Detectives are still following up on leads.
