WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The brother of a murdered Warren woman is speaking out, and saying she and the alleged killer, William Fambro, were in a relationship.

Teresa Hunter’s brother, Freddie Washington, disputed information that Fambro’s wife, Carrie McGhee, gave WKBN in an interview on Monday pertaining to the relationship between Fambro and Hunter.

William Fambro, 44, of Warren, was charged with aggravated murder for the death of Teresa Hunter.

“They were dating, they were dating, and I mean, he’s been in my house,” Washington said. “I’ve talked to him face to face, I didn’t expect this.”

Washington said they would check in to the Riverview Motel — where Hunter’s body — on a regular basis.

“I mean, they would go to the room all the time, really,” he said. “There has been a couple occasions she has went to the room with him, and she’d tell me, ‘You know he wants to take me to the room. We’re going to the room.’ They’d go to the room.”

Motel management had told investigators that Hunter checked in on Wednesday, and when she didn’t check out the next morning, they went into room 25 and found her lying on the floor next to the bed, dead from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

“Why? You know, I mean, just why? There’s no reason nobody should get done like that,” Washington said.

Now, Hunter’s family is making funeral arrangements and trying to raise money to help with the costs by placing donation jars in convenience stores

around Warren. Her brother said her family, including her children, will now have to learn to live without her.

“I love her. I’m gonna miss her,” he said. “She ain’t got to worry about her kids, ’cause they will be taken care of.”
