SALINEVILLE, Ohio (WYTV) – Southern Local Elementary School students raised $17 dollars more than their goal, all so the principal had to pay up and dress like a clown as promised.
She was not alone; the gym teacher also had to wear a tutu as part of a fundraiser for Jump Rope for Heart, raising money for the American Heart Association.
The two say that it is worth one day of playing dress up if it is for a better cause.
“We have several students that have come through our doors here that had heart problems that the Heart Association has helped, and they have grandparents that have been helped out by the Heart Association and the research that they do,” said Kathy Randolph, a physical education teacher at the school.
The school’s Jump Rope for Heart efforts raised $5,017 for the American Heart Association.
