Cortland man charged with theft of prescriptions from elderly

HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – A Cortland man, who is accused of stealing prescription painkillers from the homes of senior citizens, turned himself in to police on Thursday.

Howland Police say Greg Dean is tied to at least five burglaries and thefts at the Shepherd of the Valley retirement community. Dean is facing five felony charges of burglary, according to court records.

The thefts for which Dean is accused took place during the summer, and the victims told police there was no sign of a break-in. Victims told police several people had access to their homes, including health aides and maintenance workers at Shepherd of the Valley.
