YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Salvation Army kicked off its Red Kettle Campaign with a breakfast Thursday morning.
The annual event kicks off the official holiday season for the Salvation Army and their biggest fundraising campaign of the year.
The goal this year is to reach $350,000 dollars to help those in need.
“Many of us are blessed to have food on the table and clothes on our backs. There are others who are struggling, and we want to be good neighbors. We want to be good citizens,” said Major Elijah Kahn, Mahoning County coordinator.
Kettles will place at retailers around the Valley beginning November 9 through December 24.
Volunteers can sign up to ring the Salvation Army bell by calling (330) 270-5999.
