WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Warren mom was in court Monday answering to child endangerment charges after her daughter was found in a stranger’s car with no clothes on.
Chariti Jones, 34, pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge, which carries a maximum penalty of six months of jail time and a $1,000 fine.
Investigators said the girl wandered through the parking lot of the Warren Baking Company on Friday before finding her way into an unlocked car.
Witnesses said they gave the girl a coat and called police after finding her wearing only a pair of slippers.
Jones can only have contact with her daughter if it is approved by Trumbull County Children’s Services.
