YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Community of Faith Collaborative Union (COFCU) is another step closer to starting a credit union in Youngstown.
Covelli Enterprises donated $25,000 to help the group. The COFCU needs $150,000 to be eligible for $1.5 million, which would help its goal of assisting the community.
Right now, the organization has collected $75,000, which is halfway to reaching its goal.
“We have an address, we have a phone number, and we have a name on every dollar. We are confident by July 1, we will have $150,000 at least, if not more,” said Reverend Henry McNeil.
When enough money is raised, the organization could go to the state and ask for a charter to set up the credit union.
