Youngstown Police investigating apparent burglary, dog shooting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown Police are investigating what they say appears to be a break-in in which someone shot a woman’s dog on the south side of Youngstown.

According to a police report, police went to a house on Cornell Ave. Wednesday. A woman called the Youngstown Police Department and said that someone broke into the house on Saturday, overturning furniture, taking some of her belongings, and shooting her dog.

Police found items thrown around chaotically inside and a dead dog in the basement, the report stated. Police also found several bullets and believe that the dog was indeed shot.

Police believe that someone did indeed break in and continue to investigate the case.
