BRACEVILLE TWP., Ohio (WYTV) – A failed gasket led to a brine water spill at Heckman Water Resources in Braceville Township on Monday.
The newsroom received several calls about the incident. On Tuesday, WYTV talked to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which said the failure sent brine water shooting six feet into the air.
ODNR investigated and says all of the water was contained to a concrete pad that has sump pumps underneath and deposits the water into holding tanks. No fluids leaked into any waterways, and there was no ground water contamination, according to ODNR.
Heckman Water Resources is located just off of State Route 5.
