Youngstown murder victim identified

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Wednesday, Youngstown Police have identified a man who died in a shooting on the city’s south side Tuesday evening.

Police identified the man as Richard Macklin, 22, saying he was shot to death at a house in the 200 block of East Philadelphia Ave. in the city’s first homicide of 2016.

According to the police report, the landlord who owns the property called police after discovering Macklin shot to death in his upstairs apartment around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

When police got to the house, they found the side door kicked open and the victim lying dead upstairs.

Police have not identified any suspects.
