WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – While there hasn’t been much snow in the Valley this winter, the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office has added several vehicles to their fleet.
Their three new salt trucks are 2016 models. One even has a wing plow, the first the county has ever purchased. That addition to the truck allows the plow to clear an extra half-lane in one pass, and pushes snow back further.
“It will save us a lot of work and will eliminate another piece of equipment we would normally have to use when we have heavy snow,” Gregg Alberini with the Trumbull County Engineer’s Office said.
Alberini said in the past few years, the county has tried adding three to four new trucks per year to their fleet in order to reduce the amount of equipment downtime and maintenance costs.
