VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – You could be on a plane leaving Youngstown and headed straight to Chicago as soon as April 1, Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport Aviation Director Dan Dickten said Wednesday.
Dickten was at the Western Reserve Port Authority meeting this morning.
Aerodynamics will be the airline for most of the non-stop flights. Right now, the airline is waiting for approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“The airline has requested that the DOT approve their certification in a timely manner, and that’s pretty much the holding pattern we are in right now,” Dickten said.
Once approved, flights to Chicago will happen on a daily basis, according to Dickten.
American and United Airlines will provide connecting flights.
