Warren child taken from home, mother being investigated

The child's mother has not yet been arrested or charged

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A two-year-old Warren girl is now being cared for by Trumbull County Children Services after an investigator found her living in what a police report describes as “deplorable conditions.”

The child’s mother, 24-year-old Courtney Phillips, has not been arrested or charged with any crimes at this time. The child was taken into protective custody by Trumbull County Children Services, however, and a Children Services Board investigator was sent to speak with Phillips about the ongoing case.

According to a police report, drug paraphernalia was found, along with the poor conditions, at the Fifth Street SW apartment.
