Troopers seize marijuana, Adderall in Erie County traffic stop

ERIE CO., Ohio (WYTV) – Three pounds of marijuana and 56 Adderall pills were discovered during a traffic stop in Erie County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The traffic stop was made for an alleged speed violation on Interstate 80 eastbound near milepost 117 in Erie County. Troopers pulled over a rented 2016 Hyundai with West Virginia plates at 6:12 a.m. Friday.

According to State Highway Patrol, a probably cause search of the vehicle was conducted after troopers smelled marijuana. The search revealed three pounds of marijuana and 17 boxes of THC cigars in the vehicle’s trunk. Troopers also located 56 Adderall pills.

The contraband has an approximate street value of $14,758.

The driver, Jacob Coakley, 34, of Beaver Falls, Pa., was incarcerated in the Erie County Jail and charged with trafficking in marijuana, a second-degree felony, possession of marijuana, a third-degree felony, and possession of Schedule II substance, a fifth-degree felony.
