Mild gets win 300 as West Middlesex tops Wilmington

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA (WYTV)-West Middlesex head coach Chad Mild grabbed win number 300 for his career Friday night as his Big Reds topped Wilmington 63-60 in the District 10 Class “AA” quarterfinals.

It is the Big Reds third win over the Greyhounds this season.

After going into the half trailing, Wilmington’s Jimmy Powers hit three triples to start the 3rd quarter to give the Greyhounds the lead.

West Middlesex had an answer in the 4th quarter though going on a quick 7-0 run midway through the frame which was enough to edge the ‘Hounds.

Josh Porterfield dominated inside the paint and led the Big Reds with 27 points while Nicky Cannone had 20 and Ryan Dogan chipped in 13.

Wilmington was led by Spencer DeMedal who had 28 and Powers with 22.

The Big Reds will take on Fairview in the “AA” semifinals.
