Elevated lead levels found in Champion Schools water

The Trumbull County school district said that all water fountains at the school are safe.

CHAMPION, Ohio (WYTV) – Water samples taken from Champion Schools showed higher than acceptable levels of lead.

Elevated levels were found in three sinks: One at Central Elementary, and one each at the Middle and High school.

There were also elevated levels in the water meter main line coming into the high school.

All the sinks have been disconnected.

The district stresses that all samples taken from water fountains were clear.
