HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – A community forum was held in Howland on Tuesday to discuss the reconfiguration of the elementary schools and all-day kindergarten.
The meeting was the first of a series to explain the new changes at the Howland Local School District.
Beginning next school year, Howland Springs Elementary School will hold kindergarten and first graders, Howland Glen Elementary School will be kindergarten and second graders, H.C. Mines Intermediate will be third and fourth grade students and North Road Intermediate will be comprised of fifth grade students.
For the first time next year, kindergarten students will attend all-day school.
Superintendent Kevin Spicher said the challenge is providing transportation for all of the students. That was discussed during Tuesday’s meeting.
