BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Greg Parella’s layup with :06 left in overtime served as the eventual game-winner, as Ursuline rallied past Canfield 64-62 in the Division III District Semifinals at Boardman High School.
Canfield had a chance to tie at the end of the overtime period, but Brandon McFall’s shot fell just short at the buzzer. McFall finished with 14 points in the setback.
At one point, the Cardinals held a 15-point lead in the game.
Parella led the Irish with 23 points in the win. Armon Nasseri added 17, while Anthony Howell finished with 10.
Canfield was led by Mason Mangapora who piled up 23 points for the Cardinals. Julian Vitto chipped in with 11 in the setback.
Canfield’s season comes to an end with a mark of 17-7.
Ursuline improves to 19-6 on the season. The Irish advance to face the winner of Poland/Salem in the Division III District Finals Saturday at 4PM at Boardman High School.
