WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Making Warren attractive enough to draw people downtown is the focus of a new, three-phase marketing plan.
Downtown business owners, private investors and local neighbors were at the Lime Tree to hear the new plan on Thursday night. The privately-funded marketing strategy will include a website launch, digital billboards and an interactive directory of businesses.
Eventually, a mobile app will be created.
Organizers say people don’t realize just how much Warren offers in dining and entertainment.
Brandon Giovannone, owner of MDI Studios in Warren, said the malls took business away from the downtown area, but it is starting to make a comeback.
“Downtown is back, and the downtown needs to become a complex,” he said.
The first phase — unveiling an Internet presence promoting downtown businesses — is set to launch next month.
