YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Mother Nature has been on the side of retail this winter.
Michele Czerwinski, spokeswoman for the Grove City Premium Outlets, said the warmer weather has led to more people visiting and shopping at the complex. She said January and February are usually slower months for the outlets, but not so this year.
“Weather definitely has an impact on our shopping. This, being an extremely mild season, as compared to last year [when] we had a very rough winter. So, there’s a huge difference in the amount of traffic we’re seeing this year,” she said.
Czerwinski said she always watches to see how the weather will be, so she and her crews can prepare for any bad weather.
“We constantly monitor the weather, whether it be from the news stations, the apps you guys have, and taking a look at the National Weather Service. Our operations director is usually up all night or all morning monitoring the weather,” she said.
Czerwinski is hoping for more success in the near future with the big taste of spring in the coming days.
“I’m very optimistic. Looking into next week, everybody is talking about the 60 degree weather so, we’re looking forward to a really robust week,” she said.
