Victim identified in fatal Ravenna crash

RAVENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – One person is dead in a two-vehicle accident in Ravenna Thursday morning.

An ODOT truck and a Jeep collided on Route 14 on the north end of the city. The accident happened when the Jeep went left-of-center and struck the ODOT truck. Ryan Knight, 25, of Mantua, Ohio was driving the Jeep and died in the crash. Knight was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to police.

Paramedics took the driver of the truck to University Hospital in Ravenna, where doctors treated and released him.

The accident happened at 6:30 a.m. Wet roads may have been a factor in the crash, and police do not believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Ravenna post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ravenna Police are investigating the crash.
