COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WYTV) – The Humane Society in Columbiana held its second annual Doggie Egg Hunt on Saturday.

About 70 dogs and their owners gathered at Firestone Park for the hunt.

If a dog’s nose touched an egg, their human partner put it in their bag. The eggs contained raffle tickets for baskets and other prizes.

The event raises money for the Humane Society and is an opportunity to give back to the animals.

“[We] wanted to present something that’s a family event and can include dogs. There’s not a lot of dog-inclusive activities out there and as far as I know, there’s not an Easter egg hunt just for dogs anywhere in the county,” said Coordinator Jill Halligan.

Dogs and their families could also take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
