YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Youngstown City School District hosted a job fair at the Choffin Career & Technical Center on Saturday afternoon.
The event allowed the human resources staff to recruit for full-time and substitute positions from math, music and Spanish teachers to bus drivers, custodians and secretaries.
Multiple school officials said this benefits both the school, as well as the people seeking opportunities.
“When you meet an applicant in person, from an HR perspective, you get a chance to…ask questions that you can’t really put onto an application,” said Youngstown City Schools Assistant Superintendent Milton Walters. “If you put everything onto the application, you’re talking about a 15 to 20-page application. But you get to meet the individuals, and get a sense of how he or she would fit with the organizational objective and to help us move the district forward.”
This is the fourth year the district held a job fair.
