YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Law enforcement officials brought charges against a Youngstown man for sexual activity with a minor.

David Guevara Sr., 31, is charged with attempted transportation and transportation of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.

Guevara met the 15-year-old girl in July of 2015 and began a sexual relationship with her, according to an FBI investigation.

The FBI report says they initially had sex in a tent under a Youngstown bridge but Guevara moved with her to Philadelphia later that month.

Law enforcement interviewed Guevara in December and say he admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship and traveling with the minor, even though he knew she was only 15.

Guevara also stated that he intended to have a child with her and move them to Mexico, according to the report.

At the time of this federal arrest, Guevara was already being held in Mahoning County Jail on state charges.
A detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning in Youngstown.
