Chairo leads Poland past Howland

HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Poland’s Tony Chairo went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI’s to lead the Bulldogs to a 4-1 win over Howland in All-American Conference action Thursday at Howland Township Park.

Eric White, Don Drummond, and Pad O’Shaughnessy added 2 hits apiece in the victory.

Dan Klase (2-0) picked up the win on the mound, allowing just 3 hits in 6 shutout innings with 2 strikeouts.  Eric White pitched a scoreless 7th inning to earn the save.

Craig Lewis accounted for Howland’s only run of the game, with a sacrifice fly in the 5th innings.  Lewis finished the day 1-3.

Michael Massucci suffered the loss for the Tigers pitching 7 innings, allowing 4 runs (1 earned) with 3 strikeouts.

Howland drops to 3-3 overall on the season.

Poland improves to 6-2 overall.  The Bulldogs host Marlington Fridaay at 5PM.
