Youngstown man charged with firing shots in road rage incident

Leonard Ellis charged with felonious assault in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A road rage incident in Youngstown ended with an arrest and felonious assault charge.

At about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man driving a Malibu, identified as Leonard Ellis, 21, of Youngstown, argued with a driver of a Honda at the corner of Rush Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue after both men accused the other of cutting them off, according to a police report.

The driver of the Honda told police that Ellis pulled a gun and fired into the ground. Ellis then took off and drove to a home on Palmer Ave. The Honda followed, and as he was driving past the house on Palmer, Ellis pulled a gun and fired several times in the direction of the Honda, according to the report.

Police found a gun inside the house on Palmer Avenue with five spent shells.

Ellis was arrested and charged with felonious assault.
