Western Reserve gets by LaBrae thanks to a big 4th inning

Western Reserve will welcome McDonald on Monday.

Reserve improves to 7-1 following their win this afternoon over LaBrae.

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WYTV) – A 6-run fourth propelled Western Reserve to their 7th win of the season as they defeated LaBrae 10-5. Ryan Demsky, the Devils’ starter, threw 4 innings as he struck out 5 Vikings and allowed 3 earned runs and 5 hits. Demsky, the team’s leadoff batter, had a pair of singles while scoring a run in 5 at-bats.

The Blue Devils’ Dallas Smith closed out the game by pitching the final two innings without permitting a single hit.

Walker Marlowe finished with 2 hits as he drove in 2 runs as well. Wyatt Larimer finished the contest with 2 runs scored, a base hit, a walk and an RBI. Reserve, as a team, had 9 players who had a base hit (11).

For LaBrae, J.T. Wolke and Nathan Hendryx had two hits apiece. Pitcher Sam Wells started the game for the Vikings as he went 4 innings and allowed just 2 earned runs (7 total).

Western Reserve (7-1) will now prepare for McDonald at home on Monday. The Vikings will travel to Liberty on Monday.
