Dr. Shayesteh joined 33 WYTV Daybreak to explain why OMEGA-3 fatty acids are essential to our diet.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Despite what you may have heard, some fats can actually be good for you.

OMEGA-3 fatty acids are essential to our diets.

Great sources of OMEGA-3 can be found in:

  • Fish; the number one source which contains EPA DHA, the most beneficial to health.
  • Nuts, seeds, and olive oil; these contain alpha-lipoic acids.

Combining these two main sources together significantly increases the level of OMEGA-3 in our diet.

Why are these fatty acids so important to our health? How often should we eat foods containing them?

Dr. Shayesteh joined 33 WYTV Daybreak to explain how essential it is for OMEGA-3 to be part of our everyday diet.
